COMPOSITION

Ansie stays in Reitz with 11 girls. The youngest is 6 and the eldest 18 years.

INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

The girls are interested in athletics, hockey and netball. Lizelle is enjoying her ballet. Nonnie is head girl of Maluti Hoogland Special School.

CHURCH AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The Dutch Reformed Churches that are involved are Frankfort, Vredefort and Villiers. Every Wednesday a group of 4 persons is joining us for Bible study. They also provide us with meat and vegetables. They also donated a dvd player.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOUSE

Reitz is an enormous house that is situated next to a ‘koppie’ with a large playground around the house. We have a beautiful scenic view over the town. The girls are very excited about the small animals like rabbits, deer and birds that roam on the grounds.

CHURCH AND SCHOOL PARTICIPATION

We attend the Dutch Reformed Church Bethlehem West. One of the girls attends the AGS Church.

The girls attend three different schools: Voortrekker High School, Truida Kestell Primary School and Maluti Hoogland Special School. Two girls from Maluti Hoogland Special School finish school this year.

NEEDS

  • We are in need of a TV and a refrigerator.
  • Kettles, irons and frying pans as well as linen are needed for the girls who are leaving at the end of the year.
