COMPOSITION
Estelle stays in Nonnashof with 11 girls. The youngest is 8 and the eldest 17 years.
INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
The girls are interested in music, reading, netball, swimming, dancing and art. Like most teenagers they like to dress up. CHURCH AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
The Dutch Reformed Churches that are involved are Kestell, Bethlehem North and Panorama.
They treat the girls with sweets, fruit, and give them birthday parties. They bought a lot of plants to decorate the veranda. They are also busy with improvements in the rooms and dining room.
At the end of each year they give a Christmas party for the girls.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOUSE
Only two girls stay in a room. We have lots of fun on the veranda, drink coffee, play games or just sit and chat.
The house is very cold in the winter due to the high ceilings.
CHURCH AND SCHOOL PARTICIPATION
We attend the Dutch Reformed Church in Panorama and the girls also participate in the Sunday school.
The girls attend five different schools: Voortrekker High School, Truida Kestell Primary School and Maluti Hoogland Special School.
One girl is in matric this year.
