Esterhof


Esterhof got its name from Mrs. Ester Knobel. She was on the Management of the children’s home for many years.

COMPOSITION


Alta, Danie and their daughter, Chantelle stay in Esterhof with 12 boys. The youngest is 7 and the eldest 17 years.

INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS


The boys are interested in rugby, cricket, soccer, tennis, fishing and music.

CHURCH AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT


The Dutch Reformed Churches that are involved are Bethlehem Efrata, Parys South, Parys West and Reitz West.

They treat the boys with sweets and fruit, as well as presents and birthday parties.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOUSE


Our boys like to play cricket or rugby on the grass.

CHURCH AND SCHOOL PARTICIPATION


We attend the Dutch Reformed Church Bethlehem West and the boys also participate in the Sunday school.

The boys attend four different schools: Voortrekker High School, Truida Kestell Primary School, Maluti Hoogland Special School and Bethlehem Combined School.

NEEDS


  • Kitchen-dressers
  • Wardrobes for the rooms
  • Fishing equipment
  • Kettles, irons, frying pans, bedding as well as crockery for the boys who leave the centre at the end of the year.
